Cleaner
We’re a forward-looking company, so sustainability is important to us. We provide smart routes and modes of transport that do the least possible harm to the environment.
Technological innovation: making the logistics fleet more sustainable
The development of cleaner engines and drive systems never stands still. All the traditional diesel engines in the DLG truck fleet meet the highest sustainability standards (EURO 6). DLG is also equipping a large part of its fleet with LNG tractor units. Lastly, we’re actively involved in electrification and hydrogen projects. Our widespread use of 45ft refrigerated containers has also helped us take a big step towards making our fleet more sustainable.
Transport modes
As well as striving for sustainability through technological innovations, DLG also makes your supply chain more sustainable by offering and using various transport modes. DLG believes sustainability goes further than using “cleaner” equipment. Wherever possible, we offer transport not just by road but also by rail or by sea. The routes we use to ship your cargo can make an important contribution to sustainability. By transferring mileage to alternative modes like inland navigation, short-sea or even deep-sea shipping, we cut CO2 emissions and reduce the burden on the road network.
Proactive driver behaviour
Besides technological innovation and different transport modes, the behaviour of our drivers is also an important factor. Proactive driver behaviour includes things like rolling out the truck on time, using cruise control where possible and minimising idling of the engine (and refrigerator motor). This driver behaviour not only cuts emissions but also prevents accidents. It increases the safety of our own drivers and all the road users around us, so proactive driver behaviour kills two birds with one stone. Cleaner and safer.
